this video i did for university
i anticipated the "modul kunsttransfer" and did this video for mr. josef dabernig's class. it is about the very specific relation people have to certain dates. one remembers exactly where something special had happend and what day that was ... things like that ... this video is about that idea. about what humans decide to keep in their minds .wien, 2005

old project

this is a project i did 2005 for university ... the task was to create a room dividing transformable object .... that should give light ... so that s what i did ... in very cheap material for we had to do this 1:1 model .... in reality it would be nice to get it done out of some flexible plastic and metal cords ...

these projects were presented in the bene showroom in vienna .... uhhh and one pic of my project was published in one issue of "derStandard" an austrian daily newspaper ... good one ... hehe

the idea of my transformer is that the user is invited to play with the structure ... there are little cord stoppers to adjust the "shelf" to form it in a personal way and then to position the light whereever one needs it ... this system is addable ... through adjusting the stoppers one can create different shapes and dimensions of the object ... it can be tall and slim aswell as short and round .... the whole thing is anchored to the ceiling, one could anchor it to the floor or side walls too to make it more stable .... by using many moduls one could build up a whole wall shelf ...

START UP

When architecture starts up with some lines .... sometimes it s all there in the head but just won't come out ....

let me give you an introduction.
the idea is where it starts.
some connected points drop out of the mind down on the line
closer to reality than before.
to give life to it one needs to make sensefull lines. give meaning to them, form, function.
only with the guiding image the line starts to work.
